My Find for the Day

I found this green shower curtain today at our local Target store.  I was excited to find it, because I love this color green.  I plan on using it for fabric and at 2.48, you can't go wrong!  I am thinking pillows for my living room. 

We will see...creating is the best part!!!

Finished Pretty

Here is my desk project finished. I love this desk we use it a lot. Well I guess I use it the most. It is a little small for my 6"4' husband! I find that it is both pretty and functional! Ahh sweet bliss!

This is my function, we use this desk for bills, charging station, and where our laptop sits.  My boys even have been known to do some homework at the new desk.  This desk, as you can see, has no roll top.  It forces me to keep it uncluttered.                

This is my pretty! I love this part. Picking out the knobs and the stain, pure joy! I love breathing new life into something. Using things like knobs to make this my own. You may not be able to see all the neat nicks and imperfections. I like to highlight them instead of hide them!

a Fresh new Start

I spotted this cute little desk in an antique shop.

I started seeing what it could be right away.

I had to look beyond the 4 or 5 layers of paint.

I could see the type of knobs on the drawers (not pictured).

So when the owner agreed on $30, I was sold.

Put it in the back of the SUV and was on my way.

I had to purchase a good striper and some stain, and went to work.

Now this stripper was amazing and worked almost instantly.

We did wear gloves, even though it doesn't look it.

I would even recommend pants and long sleeves, it can splatter and it BURNS.

There were four and even 5 layers of paint in some places.

It took some elbow grease and time.

Please excuse the mess in the garage.

This is the "stripped" desk.

We had to let it dry completely before we could stain it.

I hate waiting, even more so for the "pretty" part.

I love making it pretty.
