a Fresh new Start

I spotted this cute little desk in an antique shop.

I started seeing what it could be right away.

I had to look beyond the 4 or 5 layers of paint.

I could see the type of knobs on the drawers (not pictured).

So when the owner agreed on $30, I was sold.

Put it in the back of the SUV and was on my way.

I had to purchase a good striper and some stain, and went to work.

Now this stripper was amazing and worked almost instantly.

We did wear gloves, even though it doesn't look it.

I would even recommend pants and long sleeves, it can splatter and it BURNS.

There were four and even 5 layers of paint in some places.

It took some elbow grease and time.

Please excuse the mess in the garage.

This is the "stripped" desk.

We had to let it dry completely before we could stain it.

I hate waiting, even more so for the "pretty" part.

I love making it pretty.
